Room-darkening fabric blocks up to about 98% of light on its own. For true blackout we add side channels along the window edges to seal the small gaps where light sneaks in, taking the room to near-total darkness.
Both. 'Blackout' describes the fabric, not the style. We build blackout shades on our roller shade or zebra shade hardware, so you keep the look you want with the darkness you need.
With a room-darkening fabric plus side channels, most rooms feel completely dark. A little light can still enter around fittings, but the difference is dramatic — more than enough for daytime sleep and home theatres.
